Bell

Bell, Canada’s largest communications company and Vennetics, an innovator in telecommunications and IT applications, are working together to extend the existing comprehensive set of OneAPI enablers in the Bell network.

Bell has extensive experience in implementing OneAPI enablers over several years. Since January 2010, messaging, location and payment features have been available as part of the pilot project, supported by the GSMA. Through this project and other activities, Bell has developed considerable expertise in exposing core network capabilities towards external third parties and monetizing this process.

As part of the ongoing evolution of the OneAPI environment at Bell, the mobile network features that can be offered towards developers and the management of this environment by business managers within Bell, will be considerably enhanced. Bell has selected the J-Box products from Vennetics in order to support this enhancement. The J-Box based solution will extend TV based content within the Bell organisation to new mobile platforms.

Alex Wong, Manager, Applications at Bell said, “We have had the J-Box products in our Toronto labs for some time now and we’ve been impressed with the kind of applications that we can support using the system. As part of our evolution of the OneAPI platform at Bell, we are happy that J-Box provides the most contemporary set of technologies for us to use in order to support the new capabilities that we need.”

Kieran Dalton, Chairman at Vennetics, said, “There is no question that the team at Bell are among the world leaders in both OneAPI technologies specifically and also the monetization of external access to mobile network capabilities in general. Everyone within Vennetics is genuinely delighted to be working with Bell in this area and we are confident that we can have ongoing success with the project in Canada.”
