Importantly this has been matched by commercial sales with Network Operators. Consequently Vennetics are looking to expand their Engineering Team. As a member of Vennetics’ Engineering Team you will work with new and emerging technologies to deliver leading edge applications. You will participate in the design and implementation of additional applications for the Vennetics product suite.

The new applications will be deployed to a range of mobile devices including iPhone, iPad, Android and PC based platforms and will complement Vennetics’ existing range. The solutions will leverage the company’s deep expertise in both the communications and information technology industries. To support this development Vennetics’ Belfast Engineering Team has several current and future opportunities for Graduate Software Engineers – both recently qualified and those with 1-3 years post-graduate experience – and more experienced software engineers with experience in server side programming and/or mobile device application programming.

Graduate Software Engineer

Reporting Manager: Engineering Director

Location: Belfast

Responsibilities will include:

• Act as part of the software development team participating in the full software development life cycle of device and server solutions;
• Designing, implementing and testing software from customer requirement specifications;
• Contributing to new feature introduction, system level product enhancements, and software maintenance;
• Interfacing with customers to provide product support;

The successful candidates will possess the following:

• Degree in Computer Science;
• Electrical Engineering or related discipline;
• Interest in mobile applications and telecommunications;
• Personal flexibility and a willingness to travel;
• Practical experience in software programming is desirable;
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux and Object Oriented programming language (such as Java) is a definite asset
• Familiarity with iOS/Android and Object Oriented programming language (such as Objective C) is a definite asset
• Sound problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills;
• Strong analytical, communication and documentation skills;
• Proven ability to work well in a team and contribute as part of that team;

Software Engineer

Reporting Manager: Engineering Director

Location: Belfast

Responsibilities will include:

• Act as part of the software development team participating in the full software development life cycle of device and server solutions;

• Contributing to new feature introduction, system level product enhancements, and software maintenance;
• Interfacing with customers to provide product support;

The successful candidates will possess the following:

• Degree in Computer Science;
• Electrical Engineering or related discipline;
• 4+ years work experience in developing multi-threaded, multi-tiered network based applications using Java;
• 1+ year mobile device development work experience, ideally including launched applications;
• Familiarity with Java EE, Spring, JPA, Web Services, and application server technologies (JBOSS, Glassfish, etc.);
• Strong design, problem-solving, analytical and trouble shooting skills;
• Excellent communications skills including the ability to communicate to all levels;
• Strong documentation skills;
• Ability to define and meet own schedule;
• Ability to deal with multiple problems simultaneously;
• Ability to work with cross-functionally across various teams globally;
• Strong multi-tasking skills
• Ability to interface at the project level;
• Knowledge of software development environments/process, code repositories, and problem tracking tools;
• Experience in Automated Unit Test
• Strong Unix skills
