The Management Team

Kieran Dalton - Chairman
Kieran Dalton has spent over 15 years in the telecommunications industry, initially with Marconi and BT. At BT Labs Kieran worked on 4th Generation Mobile Systems to understand how local broadband wireless technology such as 802.11G can be exploited for personal mobility at the edge of the PSTN.

Kieran Dalton joined Aepona in 1997 to manage their SS7 business and 1999 he was appointed Technical Director of the company to lead their OSA product development. He has since been successful in defining, productizing and deploying a range of new web service based Telco 2.0 solutions for Aepona in North America, Europe and Asia.

Kieran has a BSc in Electronics from Queens University and an MSc in Telecommunications from University College London.

John Hamill - Sales Director
John Hamill has more than 10 years experience in the
telecommunications industry in a variety of roles, from software development, through project management, business unit management and most recently, direct sales.

John headed up the Aepona software development centre in Dublin before moving to a sales role and and winning the world’s first commercial OSA deployments. He was then appointed to the Aepona Senior Management Team as VP Solutions, in order to define and grow the portfolio of product solutions and value propositions that the Aepona global sales team would bring to market. Most recently, John worked as VP Market Development at Accuris Networks in relation to emerging FMC products.

John holds a BSc in Computer Science from Queens University Belfast.

Billy Shekleton - Non-Executive Finance Director
Billy has the overall responsibility for the Financial Operations, Investor Relations and Financial Planning of the company. he has 20 years experience of managing finance functions in both the computer and software industries in companies such as Unisys Limited, Aldiscon Limited, Logica and Openmind Networks Limited.

Billy is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

John Barron - Marketing Director
John Barron has more than 10 years of marketing experience in the mobile communications industry and during this time he has developed expertise in strategy, product launch, supply chain, consumer understanding, communication and product marketing.

He has previously worked with Vodafone, Telecom New Zealand, NewBay Software and, most recently, as VP Marketing at Accuris Networks, where he was responsible for all marketing activities within the company, managing significant budgets.

John holds an Degree in Commerce from University College Galway, a Higher Diploma in Marketing Practice from University College Dublin and a Masters in Business Studies from the Smurfit School of Business at University College Dublin.

Ivan McShane - Engineering Director
Ivan has spent over 10 years in the telecommunications industry. Starting in 1997 as a software engineer with BT where he worked for three years, followed by a software engineering role in Fujitsu working on their network management solutions, finally 7 years with Aepona working on a range of projects.

Ivan has worked in a variety of roles including software development, project management, product architectural design, and technical presales consultancy. Most recently he worked as the Principal Architect and technical lead onAepona's TWS product which won the Global Mobile Awards "Best Service Delivery Platform" title in 2008. Worked on all areas of the product evolution from R&D through to live deployments in a several North American and European operators. He was also the technical prime for the first major delivery to Sprint-Nextel in the USA.

Ivan has a MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Queen's University Belfast
